Suffrage, the fight for the vote, and the voice

Suffrage was a feminist historical event, it happened in the 19th to 20th century where the world witnessed the women's movement to recognize the right to vote that they did not have at that time.

This movement was created mainly by the British Emmeline Pankhurst, the movement aimed to approve the female vote and improve the living conditions of women. To achieve their goal, they went on hunger strikes, which were repressed by the authorities, imprisoning the women.

When the First World War ended, women who were over 30 years of age gained the right to vote. After a decade, in 1928, the British Parliament passed the law called the "Equal Franchise Act", with which the vote was obtained for all women of legal age.

In the international part, it was a movement of social, economic, and political reforms that promoted the right to vote for women, advocating for equal suffrage. The suffragettes were members of different associations that in the end had the same objective and manifested themselves in different ways. The British suffragettes were characterized by a more combative type of defense, in other countries, it was achieved from state institutions through laws that were directly promoted by women in politics as in the case of Spain with Clara Campoamor, in Argentina with Eva Perón, and even in Mexico with Elvia Carrilo Puerto.

Despite belonging to different associations, the main objectives were the same, the incorporation of women into work, the right to vote, the improvement of education, professional training, and the opening to new fields of work.
